In 1938, we produced our first hydraulic sheet metal press, giving rise to the legendary line of Harris scrap metal balers. Harris Equipment built the world’s first hydraulic scrap shear in 1956, it was a 500-ton model CS 500. Our equipment is backed by a well-trained, world-wide distribution organization, supported by a large staff of factory technicians and large parts inventories at both distributor sites and at our manufacturing plants. Today, a majority of Harris Equipment power-packs and cylinders are produced in-house; it is part of the heritage that makes Harris the highest quality balers available.
